Affording To Live on Long Island with the The Long Island Housing Partnership

Video Journalist Waldo Cabrera

As prices of homes continue to rise and rental apartments are in short supply, the Long Island Housing Partnership is helping to correct those trends.

They advocate for and assist in the creation of affordable housing. Young professionals can find elegant apartments in convenient downtown destinations. First time home buyers get education and assistance when purchasing a home and active seniors have more options when downsizing.

Many view the term "Affordable Housing" in a negative light. It's a relative term that describes the ability of a family of a certain size with a specific income can afford to own a home. It's a different criteria of each individual... maybe even you.
